Resistance Song
My friends and I were hanging
Just passing the time
Until we could get out of this place
And start the race
Of our lives
And find our wives
Then the invader came around
Claiming he owned our grounds
Where he found much oil
And found strategic control
Of the region surrounding ours
But we were always surrounded
By our brothers and sisters
And other members of our family
So we took up arms
And for some time abandoned
Our quest for wives
We bloodied the occupier
With stones, bombs, bullets and swords
We had to forsake our own notions
Of their humanity
To enable the slaughter required
Someday we will have to atone to God
For these crimes
However necessary they might be
Till then
We will fight
