The End of the World
It all happened
When we weren’t expecting it
The bombs fell
On that terrible day
We moved from our living room
Into the basement
And have remained
There ever since
We sit together
And alone below all
Burning out the day
And burning out the night
When the world
Was on fire
We just lit up spliffs
And kept getting higher
All the while
We were hiding
In the basement
Carefully secluded
Reality became
A travesty
All too plain to see
Nobody went away
On that day
We hid
Like cowards
At high noon
